Membership
Categories of Membership
There are two (2) categories of membership:
(a) Ordinary Members
(b) Associate Members
The rights and privileges enjoyed by a member are non-transferrable.
All prospective members and members are bound by ASSETS By-Laws and Code of Practice.
Application for Membership:
(a) Any party wishing to join ASSETS should submit the necessary particulars to the Honorary Secretary on the prescribed form as set out in the By-Laws.
(b) The Executive Committee will decide on the application for membership, and will have sole discretion in accepting or rejecting an application for membership. All decisions
of the Executive Committee in such regard shall be final and binding.
(c) A copy of the Constitution of ASSETS and the By-Laws shall be furnished to every approved member upon payment of the first annual subscription.
Ordinary Members

The category of Ordinary Members shall be open to any incorporated and/or registered bodies in Singapore (“entities” or each, an “entity”) that are approved under the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (“MCYS”), now known as Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), and/or under the Ministry of Education (“MOE”) and/or the Council of Private Education to manage and operate any of the following:
(i) Childcare centres
(ii) Kindergartens
(iii) Infant and Toddler care services
(iv) Early Childhood Care and Education Training Providers -
Ordinary Members shall have the following rights:
(i) To publicly identify themselves as members of ASSETS and to use the trade marks and signs of ASSETS on their stationery and in advertising and promotional materials
in a manner to be determined by ASSETS;
(ii) To be entitled to all membership services made available by ASSETS to the member from time to time
(iii) To vote for the members of the Executive Committee and on all issues and matters submitted for a vote by members of ASSETS. -
Each Ordinary Member shall appoint a representative who is a natural person in its dealings with ASSETS, in accordance with the By-Laws. For the avoidance of doubt, the membership vests in the entity as member and not the representative, and all membership services are for the benefit of the entity.

Authorised representatives may stand for elections to hold office in the Executive Committee.

Only the franchisor or the master franchisee of Singapore (as the case may be) of a brand or associated brands (as the case may be) shall be eligible to be an Ordinary Member. The franchisees or sub-franchisees of the brand (as the case may be) shall be eligible only to be an Associate Member.
Associate Members

The category of Associate Members shall be open to the following categories:
(i) Any incorporated or registered bodies in Singapore that manage and operate Preschool Enrichment centres, Student Care services, or Preschool service providers;
(ii) Franchisees or sub-franchisees of an Ordinary Member;
(iii) Individuals who specialize or practise a profession in the field of early childhood education; or
(iv) Persons from time to time approved by the Executive Committee. -
Associate Members shall be entitled to all membership services made available by ASSETS to the member from time to time.

Associate Members do not have the right to:
(i) Vote on any issue submitted for a vote; and
(ii) Hold office in ASSETS. -
Each Associate Member that is an entity shall appoint a representative who is a natural person in its dealings with ASSETS in its dealings with ASSETS in accordance to the By-Laws. For the avoidance of doubt, the membership vests in the entity as member and not the representative, and all membership services are for the benefit of the entity.
